ACLS Classes
This course is for Healthcare Professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as other who need Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course completion card for job or other requirements.
Overview:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support emphasizes the importance of Basic Life Support CPR to patient survival, the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions, and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation. Simulated clinical scenarios encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students will practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as a team leader.
A 50 question multiple choice test is administered after the completion of class.
A grade of 84% or better is required before your card can be issued.
Full participation is required, attendance and arriving on time are mandatory to receive a completion card.
Prerequisites:
* BLS for the Healthcare Provider card (must be current and valid)
* ACLS Book (Provider Manual, see below)
* Pre-course Self-Assessment (instructions in ACLS book, also information will be sent in confirmation email)
Reviewing the Student Manual is strongly recommended to all students before class.
All students are supposed to have a current book with them when attending class. You are able to purchase a book when registering. If you are registering within seven (7) days of class, arrangements should be made to pick the book up at our office prior to the start of your class - please plan accordingly. Inside the book are instructions on how to take a pre-course self-assessment that is REQUIRED to attend class. This will help you prepare for the class and increase success on completing the class successfully.
If you have already purchased a book or have access to a CURRENT ACLS Student Manual (AHA 2015 Guidelines) you do not need to purchase a new one.
